Since 2018, Charles-Étienne Ferland has been offering workshops in schools to demystify the writing profession and share his passion for literature. Whether for high school, college, or university students, his workshops are designed to be interactive and accessible, with groups of up to 400 participants. Available both in-person and virtually, these workshops are tailored to the needs of each institution and provide a captivating introduction to the world of creative writing.

Examples of topics covered: the creative process, novel structure, the importance of research in writing, and much more. With a personalized approach adapted to the participants’ age group, Charles-Étienne Ferland encourages dialogue and interaction to offer a rewarding experience at each session.

Conferences can be funded via the programs La culture à l’école or Parlez-moi d’une langue.

From the first idea to publication, he will answer all your questions and offer you a concrete overview of the realities of the writing world and entomology, while providing you with practical advice for all levels.

Together, we will discuss the story, the characters, and the sources of inspiration that shaped the story. Dévorés is often the most popular work for this workshop, but all works are welcome!

Conference Sequence

The author begins by presenting his background, his practice, and his projects, offering an inspiring insight into his experience in the field of writing. Following this, a question-and-answer session allows for a guided discussion, making the activity interactive and encouraging exchanges with participants. To maximize the effectiveness of this exchange, it is recommended to submit questions one to two weeks in advance.
